Growth opportunity...
As a good friend of mine once pointed out after a failed relationship, difficulties in life can be put in the 'Another f***ing growth opportunity' box. I would definitely include last week in that box. Whilst most families were having a jolly time on half term in the sun, the Benians clan were mostly crying, sniffing, feverish or all three at the same time. O got the evil cold which I'd had a week or so before, and it really knocked him for six. All good eating habits - the few we have - went out of the window. Sleep was interrupted (his and ours). Taking toys to bed was fine. Watching hours of Noddy and Bob the Builder became standard fare.
Having had it very easy with our two for some time now, I feel as though we are going through one of those transition phases. O's language is on another spurt and I'm trying to get my head around when we should move him out of his cot. F is four months old (yikes!!) and will soon be ready for some real food (if you can call baby rice real food) and I still haven't even tried her on a bottle.
Thankfully N's mad patch of work is coming to an end. His last deadline is July 4th and then no more academic stuff until November. I have felt like a single parent at times which has been tough. Just to add to the mix, his course are considering moving the host uni to Bath which will mean he has to commute there for teaching. Hmmm not very amusing.
But, with the sun shining and the prospect of a week in Cornwall at the end of the month, life looks pretty rosy. Over and out for now...
